My Role as a Citizen ofEarth

In this vast universe we were born to this planet called Earth, where various cultures, ethnicities and all living beings and Nature exist together. I strongly believe that “Nature has enough for man’s need but not enough for his greed”. In this modern world everyone talks about Progress, technology but we do not bother about our precious gift which is nature given by God. As an 11 year old boy wherever I go I see pollution, water scarcity and destruction everywhere, which is spread by the human itself. These problems start from our houses. I remember when my Mother used to tell me stories. One day she told me that in the early days there were no such problems like this. They had a healthy environment, no pollution in the society, enough water resources and a peaceful environment. But the present situation is totally opposite and the season of all this is lack of responsibility. As the member of an earthly family I will be a great asset to it by linking between environment and creative development to foster cultural understanding and equity among people. I will look beyond geopolitical boundaries through interconnectedness to improve living conditions. I believe, the problems that effect humanity are global issues and I would work to provide an effective framework when dealing with global health, human rights, poverty. My vision is to continue to educate, inspire and birth “New Earth Citizens” where people walk the talk in love with themselves, the planet and in service to humanity with three common goals: Liberty, equality and the pursuit of happiness. As citizens of earth, I will create a global consciousness for what is right, and what is wrong, however, Humanity first before anything else. This would be my goal and importance of being an Earth Citizen. My role would build a capacity to think beyond one’s own needs and experiences, by taking responsibility for oneself AND others through engagements with a variety of humanity communities and construct new relationships, connection, sensibilities, commitments and affinities. Being a responsible earth citizen, I will see and experience life holistically that ultimate success is achieved primarily through collaboration and never when there are winners and losers. I would be responsible to work towards humanity without taking us farther from our cultural identity thereby insisting that Change is not the loss but an opportunity to come  forward  to  solve difficult problems through collective action with constructive response. I will ensure effective participation in world community through the mantra “Respect for others” and “Contribute where you live”. I would ensure flexible approach towards ambiguity and demonstrate a spirit of experimentation with understanding that change and modification are inherent and ongoing. I would manage our technology  as it  has led to both  extraordinary  achievements  and catastrophic  failures.  I  would work to minimize the lifetime of all the waste products in the biosphere. I will ensure to minimize the use of raw materials by recycling for remanufacture. I will work towards maximizing the efficiency with which we use energy and fresh water. I will work towards better understanding, thinking and behaving for the need to tackle injustice and inequality thereby valuing the Earth as precious and unique, and safeguarding the future. I will ensure that Earth Citizenship is an outlook on life, a belief that we can make a difference. I consider myself as a global citizen because, I am aware of the wider world, and have a passionate desire to enrich my life and that of others through a variety of international experiences. As a global citizen, I see myself as a merchant of hope: speaking to the collective imagination of other people. I exercise my role as a global citizen by taking the responsibility of my actions; willing to train myself and teach others through my character, words of mouth, letters, articles; and making maximum use of opportunities allows my commitment to inspire the commitment of others. So I would like to conclude by saying that green earth is a healthy  world.
