Upgraded Culture: BetterFuture
Shubham Kumar Laxman Public School
I was born in India, a country full of cultural diversity and various religions.
CULTURE- the seven letter word is more wonderful than the Seven Wonders of the World. Our dressing styles, languages, dining styles, behaviors, habits and even day-to-day activities are jointly considered as our culture. A well behavioral person is said to be well cultured. Culture is the image of a person, society and a country.
I remember when I was too small I was inspired by my mother about the great emperors like Chandragupta and Maha Rana Pratap that they were selfless and are the winners of several hearts due to their good deeds and culture. I was inspired by them and wanted to become the same.
In my childhood days, I used to play with my friends who resided near my home.
Some of them were untouchables and some were Muslims but I belonging from a so called ‘well cultured’ family was fond of them. I usually escape from my home to play with them. Their parents never talk to me directly. My grandfather who was very honorable person in the locality always scolded me for playing with them. He treated them as an inferior. One day my blood boiled and my face turned red. I threw his stick which he always carried with him in the toilet. He scolded my mother. That night my mother asked me about the incident in a very sad voice. I just asked her if playing with my friends (non-Hindus) was a crime. She hugged me and described that it was not a crime but in our Culture it is said that ‘untouchables are of no culture’ and we must follow the same. Muslims are of different mind. They belong to a different culture. They eat cows……….As an immature I thought ‘mother is right’. But the question that arose in my mind was ‘who is the creator of this inhumane culture?’ …..Of course! We…we have made the culture, not the cultures have made us. Then we can also amend them as per our requirements. For a better future we must know ‘The Theory of the Fittest by Charles Darwin’ that those who change themselves with the need of the time, they can only survive in the extreme conditions. Therefore, there is always a need of amendment in the rules and regulations of the cultural believe whenever needed.
In India, about one century ago, females were not allowed to step out from their homes. They were said to be ‘the wealth of the family’ in ancient Indian culture.
But as the time passed they step forward and now they can do wonders.
The future of the world is in our hands. We, the youths are the potentials who has to turn the game. The life is full of challenges and many ups and downs. Many good and evil cultures reside in this world. As dowry and Satipratha are the evils but tree plantation at some memorable occasion is best. We have to think which suits us and which must be amended? For the creation of better future, there must be best cultures in our tradition. Our tradition must have the cultures like planting trees, helping needy, curbing corruption etc. There must be equality and humanity in the world.
Now I am 15 years old and very much inspired from Karl Marx. I want no political barrier in the world. I want a clean, green, peaceful and well cultured world. I want to become the leader of the whole world and preach them the lessons of humanity.
At last I would like to conclude the topic by my mother’s words-
Cultures never die but seeps in the hearts of the people and become immortal forever. Cultures from our past are our present and will give shape to our future.
So, they must be upgraded regularly as antivirus software as they act similarly in our life.
